I cover the human stories behind innovation in technology, medicine, healthcare policy and economics. I delve into topics including heart disease, medical decision making, mental health, infectious disease and drug discovery.

I have contributed to NPR, The Lancet, Medical EconomicsChemistry & Biology (Cell Press), Nature Biotechnology, Science, Red Herring, Bio-IT World, Wired, Technology Review, The Boston Globe and CURE magazine and WBUR, Boston’s NPR affiliate. I have also written book chapters such as Guide to Life Sciences in New England. 

I live in Southern California, where it rains, but not nearly often enough.
